Trent Alexander-Arnold makes Arsenal comment immediately after Liverpool’s win against Fulham

Jurgen Klopp went into today’s game knowing there was absolutely no space to slip up, otherwise the title-race would probably be conceded.

Of course, having won the game Liverpool are joint-top once again, the margins are that small.

Arsenal and Liverpool are now one point ahead of Manchester City having played a game more, with Mikel Arteta’s side boasting the best goal difference.

Arsene Wenger recently mentioned he believed that to be Arsenal’s key advantage, but it remains to be seen if the title-race will end up being decided as so.

All that being said, it certainly didn’t take Trent Alexander-Arnold long to mention Arsenal after Liverpool’s win today.

There’s a lot of pressure on each and every player involved in the title-race right now, and it seemed as if Arsenal’s latest win was playing on Trent’s mind at least.

Speaking immediately after the game to Sky Sports, Trent initially hailed the importance of today’s 3-1 win.

He said: “[That was] huge. At this point of the season, you don’t [always] get the results you want. It was a very important result for us.

“We saw Arsenal win last night, it was a big one. We need five big ones, five finals.”

He continued: “They get a goal just before half-time and it dampens the mood, changes the team talk.

“We came out, and played the way we wanted. Ryan got the second goal and Jota does what he does for the third.”

Of course, much like Trent admitted, the Arsenal players will have probably been glued to Liverpool’s game today as well.

Yes, they can only do their own job at this stage of the season, but each individual game is a cup final for the sides involved.

It almost felt as if Manchester City had run away with the title after all the disappointment of Liverpool and Arsenal losing last weekend.

But it’s amazing what a win or two can do, and everything now feels very much alive again.

That being said, Gary Neville was really impressed with how one Liverpool player turned his game around today.
