Fabrizio Romano just dropped big morning update on Ruben Amorim’s London talks

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed talks between Ruben Amorim and West Ham’s board in London on Monday.

The Portuguese international was flown to the English capital to discuss a potential future move, ‘while discussions with Liverpool are on stand-by’, according to the journalist on X (formerly Twitter).

Ruben Amorim returned to Portugal after meeting West Ham board in London on Monday.

West Ham presented their project and will insist for Amorim; nothing done yet, while discussions with Liverpool are on stand-by.

Amorim will discuss his future steps with his agents.

The Merseysiders are understood to be considering a multitude of candidates, with interviews planned for April.

The current state of play with Liverpool’s next manager
Xabi Alonso’s ‘no’ to Bayern Munich and Liverpool left our fanbase understandably disappointed but still optimistic over an alternative.

The 39-year-old Sporting Lisbon head coach very much seemed to fit the bill for what we’d be looking for.

Tactical brilliance, a willingness to develop young players, a charismatic presence… what’s not to love about Amorim?

Experience in a more challenging league is admittedly lacking, but it’s hard to imagine many other young managers ticking so many boxes.

Perhaps there’s something in the data available to Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes that’s causing some concern?
