Even though Kevin Knox was ahead of all scorers with 31 points, the Warriors fell to the Miami Heat 102-99 in the Summer League Semifinals in Las Vegas on Sunday. The loss marked the Dubs’ only defeat of the summer, having won their previous seven games.
Warriors forward Kevin Knox was the first player in double figures, reaching the mark with a 3-pointer less than a minute into the second quarter. Knox scored 15 points in 15 minutes in the first half on 6-for-8 shooting from the field and hit three 3-pointers.
Knox remained on fire throughout the game but elevated his play down the stretch of the fourth quarter as a go-to shot creator in the clutch. He scored 11 of his game-high 31 points in the final frame. Knox finished with 31 points and 11 rebounds on 12-for-17 shooting and 5-for-10 from behind the arc in 30 minutes.
From the 2:17 mark in the first quarter to 8:07 remaining in the second quarter, the Warriors scored 15 straight points, turning an eight-point deficit into a seven-point lead. Forward Kevin Knox (5) and guard Santiago Vescovi (5) combined for 10 points during the run.
Pat Spencer scored in double figures in every first half he played in Vegas Summer League and kept the streak alive with 12 points in the first half on Sunday. Spencer finished with 14 points and seven assists in 27 minutes.
Rookie Quinten Post received his first Summer League start on Sunday and made his mark, particularly in the third quarter, with two consecutive rim-rocking dunks. Post scored in double figures for his second straight game, finishing with 10 points on 3-for-4 shooting in 15 minutes.
The Warriors finished 2024 Summer League, Presented by DashPass by DoorDash, with a 7-1 record, including an undefeated California Classic. Dub Nation will be able to cheer on Stephen Curry and Head Coach Steve Kerr as they represent the United States Men’s Basketball Team and Gui Santos as he represents Brazil.
