Randy Orton made his return at Survivor Series back in November last year and in the months since then, reminded the world why he is one of the greatest to ever do it. In fact, it appears that Orton is believed to have committed to a new WWE contract.
After a long absence from WWE due to a severe back injury, Randy Orton made his comeback as a babyface in November at Survivor Series, participating in the Men’s WarGames Match. Since then, he has been involved in high-profile storylines with stars such as Logan Paul, The Bloodline, and GUNTHER.
Fightful Select reports that WWE sources claimed Orton has signed a new deal with WWE. His previous five-year deal, which was set to expire later this year, was impacted by his injury and time away from the ring.
There was speculation that WWE might extend his old contract to cover the missed time, but instead, they opted for a fresh agreement.
Orton’s new contract is reportedly for five years, extending his WWE tenure through late 2029. A WWE executive noted that, given the significant changes in guaranteed money, live event schedules, international tours, media duties, and social media responsibilities since Orton’s last deal, it made more sense to negotiate a new contract rather than simply extending the old one.
Randy Orton is now set to challenge GUNTHER for the World Heavyweight Championship at Bash in Berlin. Therefore, The Viper has certainly chosen the best time to have signed a new contract with WWE, if that is the case.
