George Russell’s girlfriend provides insight into daily lives of F1 drivers in Singapore

One of the hardest races on the Formula 1 schedule is always the Singapore Grand Prix. Drivers always find it challenging because of the constantly changing circuit layout and the hot, muggy weather. They frequently experience vertigo when they exit the cockpit. But there’s more: the race takes place at night.

With the race lasting around two hours, the drivers don’t get out of the cockpit until around 10pm. Then, there is the media commitment, recovery and team debrief to complete.

Mercedes informed the media that George Russell and Lewis Hamilton were unable to complete the media duties due to exertions. Wolff later said:

“They are both suffering from overheating but they are fine now. They put themselves in the ice baths and I think that helped a bit.”

Russell’s girlfriend, Carmen Montero Mundt, posted on Instagram on Monday. It was her first trip to Singapore and she explained there were “dinners at midnight, walks at 2am”.
