Hutchinson’s dominance has been pivotal to the Lions’ strong start.
Running back David Montgomery has continued to shine in his second year with Detroit. Over the first four weeks, he has scored a touchdown in each game, averaging 4.3 yards per carry and about 67.8 rushing yards per game. Notably, he topped 90 rushing yards in two games and played a crucial role in the season opener, where he scored the game- winning touchdown in overtime against the Rams.
Safety Kerby Joseph has proven to be a key player for the Lions’ secondary. Following two seasons with four interceptions each, he has already tallied three picks in 2024, including a game- sealing interception against Geno Smith of the Seahawks. Joseph’s presence has been vital for Detroit’s defense, especially in breaking their losing streak against Seattle.
Wide receiver Jameson Williams has emerged as a dynamic force for the Lions’ offense this season. With 13 receptions for 289 yards and two touchdowns, he’s on track for his best year yet. His explosive playmaking ability was highlighted by a 70-yard touchdown catch against Seattle, making him a crucial asset for quarterback Jared Goff.
Punter Jack Fox may not always grab headlines, but his contributions have been significant in the Lions’ strong start. He ranks among the league’s best with a net average of 44.5 yards per punt and has successfully pinned opponents inside their 20-yard line on eight occasions. Since joining the Lions in 2020, Fox has consistently been a reliable player on special teams.
Offensive lineman Graham Glasgow has been an unsung hero since rejoining the Lions last season, showcasing his versatility across the line. He has played both left guard and center this year, filling in admirably for the injured Frank Ragnow. With an impressive 82.6 pass- blocking grade and no sacks allowed this season, Glasgow has proven himself invaluable in protecting the quarterback.
