Stephen Curry and Draymond Green were sidelined from the Warriors vs. Rockets match due to injuries. The Warriors made the right decision to turn to Jonathan Kuminga and Andrew Wiggins as they have helped the team secure a win against the Houston Rockets and end a five-game losing streak.
Kuminga held the court up with a season-high 33 points, including 15 in the final quarter. He led the Golden State to a 99-93 victory. Wiggins added 23 points and nine rebounds. Their collaborative efforts helped the Warriors secure their first win since November 22.
Kevon Looney contributed four points and a team-high 11 rebounds. The Warriors were seen struggling with their shooting, but the team kept their collective control over the Rockets throughout the game. Buddy Hield had five points, and Podziemski scored eight, while Moses Moody contributed six.
Further, Payton II added six points off the bench, and Anderson chipped in with eight. Overall, the Warriors shot 41.9% from the field and 66.7% from the free-throw line.
As for the Huston, Alperen Sengun led the team with 16 points and eight rebounds, shooting 7-of-15 from the field. Dillon Brooks added 15 points on 6-of-13 shooting. Jabari Smith Jr. struggled with just five points on 2-of-8 shooting but he grabbed seven rebounds.
Jalen Green contributed 14 points, and Fred VanVleet added 13 points. They have struggled with their shooting but finished off with 5-of-16 and 4-of-16, respectively. Houston’s bench was a mixed bag— rookie Amen Thompson added 14 points and Jae’Sean Tate scored seven. The Rockets shot 37.6% from the field and 76.5% from the free-throw line in the defeat.

In the final moment of the game, the Rockets were within four after winning a coach’s challenge for possession. However, Jalen Green’s turnover led to a Kuminga breakaway. It pushed the Warriors’ lead to six. Şengün made a quick bucket but a free throw by Kuminga kept the Rockets from closing the gap.
