Andrew Kittredge, who used to play for the St. Louis Cardinals and is now a free agent, has decided to sign a one-year contract with the Baltimore Orioles, according to Ken Rosenthal.
The Orioles have not officially said yes to the deal yet. Kittredge’s contract guarantees him $9 million in salary and gives him a $1 million buyout if the team decides not to keep him for the next season.
The 34-year-old had a good season in 2024 with the Cardinals, his first in St. Louis. He had a 2.80 ERA in 70 2/3 innings. He made 74 appearances, which was the ninth most in the MLB for any pitcher. After having Tommy John surgery in 2022 and playing a short time with the Rays in 2023, Kittredge showed he could be relied on as a solid middle reliever for the Cardinals. In 57 out of 74 games, he didn’t let the other team score any points. He only gave up more than one run seven times, with the most being three runs in one game.
