Bills injury update: What is injured RB’s status for Ravens game?

Coach Sean McDermott said on Monday that Buffalo Bills running back Ray Davis is going through the NFL’s concussion protocol. During Sunday’s playoff game against the Denver Broncos, Davis had to leave the game in the third quarter. This happened after safety Brandon Jones hit him in the head with his helmet.

Josh Allen, the Bills quarterback, threw a pass to Davis, who tried to catch it by reaching out with his arms. Unfortunately, he got hit really hard by Jones. Davis was on the ground for nearly a minute, and the team’s trainers had a backboard prepared. After some time, Davis managed to get up and make his way to the locker room by himself. However, he did not come back to play in the game.

McDermott saw Davis in the hallway on Monday and noticed that the rookie running back seemed happy. McDermott talked to him and got in touch with him after the game. He mentioned that Davis seems to be doing okay emotionally. Right now, all I can say about his medical situation is that he is following the protocol.

Davis is now the Bills’ third-string running back, playing behind James Cook and Ty Johnson. Cook had a great game against the Broncos, rushing for 120 yards on 23 carries and scoring a touchdown in Buffalo’s 31-7 victory in the Wild Card round. The Bills will play against the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round this Sunday at 6:30 p.m. and they will keep an eye on Davis all week.

He needs to go through all five protocol phases to be ready for the game. If Davis can’t play against the Ravens, the Bills might use someone from their practice squad. Newcomer Frank Gore Jr. was well-liked by fans at training camp and might have a chance to play in the playoffs if Davis doesn’t recover in time.
