Liverpool reject £150m offer for Mohamed Salah as Saudi club make official transfer move

Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad have finally made an official bid for Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, but Liverpool have rejected the huge £150million offer.

The Saudi Pro League champions have been linked with a move for the Reds attacker during the last month as they continue to splash the cash following the cash injection by majority Newcastle United owners PIF.

An official bid was finally made on their behalf on Thursday night to take the player from Anfield, which was instantly rejected by Liverpool.

The deal is understood to have comprised an initial £100m with extensive add-ons taking the fee up to £150m.

Liverpool have been steadfast in their refusal to entertain selling Salah this summer, particularly with there now being only hours before the deadline for Premier League clubs to sign players.

Al-Ittihad are not expected to give up on Salah with the Reds braced for further offers, with the Saudi Arabia transfer window not closing until September 6. Liverpool, though, regard the matter as closed.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp spoke on Friday morning about Salah’s situation and said: “The position remains the same, absolutely. That’s how it is. Nothing else to say.”
