49ers Have Reportedly Made A Decision About Brandon Aiyuk’s Future

49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk played a big role in the 2023 NFL season, making it all the way to Super Bowl LVIII.

Shortly after they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl, however, rumors began to spread about Aiyuk wanting out of San Francisco this offseason.

Well, Aiyuk is still a member of the 49ers as of Sunday, and now, it sounds like the team is reportedly expecting him to remain on their roster for the 2024 season and beyond, according to Dov Kleiman.

According to a twitter report from 49ersSportsTalk, 49ers will prioritize a contract extension for WR Brandon Aiyuk after the draft.

“Both sides want to work things out & the Niners plan to have Aiyuk on their roster well beyond 2024.”

Coming to an agreement on a contract extension with the talented wide receiver after the draft will be a priority for San Francisco, according to the report.

Things could definitely change, especially if San Francisco and the wide receiver are unable to agree to an extension before the start of the 2024 campaign, but for now, there seems to be a pretty good chance that he will suit up for the team next season.

In 16 games with the 49ers in 2023, Aiyuk finished with 75 catches for a career-high 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns.

During his last two seasons with San Francisco, he’s accumulated a total of 15 touchdown catches, which is tied for the eighth-most in the NFL since 2022.

It has always been in the 49ers’ best interest to find a way to keep Aiyuk around, and now it seems like that has a good chance of actually happening.
