Four Manchester United stars have been named in the 40-man EA Sports Premier League Team of the Season (TOTS).

The Red Devils have enjoyed an impressive league campaign under manager Erik ten Haag and are currently on course for a top 4 finish. The defense has played its part all season, and it’s no surprise that Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez are on the 40-man shortlist.

Shaw has been one of the best left backs in the league this season and has looked more confident defensively than in the past. Elsewhere, Martinez could be one of the signings of the campaign.

The Argentine was a rock at the heart of Manchester United’s defence. He averaged 2 tackles and impressed with 4 disposals.

The centre-back is currently out for the rest of the season with a fractured metatarsal but will still have his place in the TOTS XI. In addition to the duo, Casemiro and Marcus Rashford are also candidates for TOTS.

Casemiro needs no introduction after a illustrious career at Real Madrid. He was United’s biggest hit in the No.6 role.

The Brazilian has been terrific defensively but has managed to impress in the last three with five goals and six assists in 40 appearances.

Meanwhile, Rashford has been at his best for the Red Devils. He scored 28 goals and 10 assists this season. 19 of those goals have come in the Premier League and we’d be surprised if he doesn’t do All of them.

United’s quartet deserve a Team of the Season nomination, but we’re surprised Bruno Fernandes and David de Gea didn’t make the list. Fernandez had a slow start to the season but has performed admirably for the Red Devils since the World Cup break. He has demonstrated a high level of consistency. As well as his 11 league goals, the Portuguese also impressed with his goal creation and impressive work rate throughout the 90 minutes.

De Gea’s suspension was another surprise for us. The Spanish star currently leads the Golden Gloves race with 14 clean sheets , but he has not even been norminated.
