Manchester United supporters name players who should leave the club after Europa League exit

Manchester United have had a successful season so far but their exit from the Europa League has ruined the campaign.

United were beaten 3-0 by Sevilla in the quarter-final second leg and fans took to social media to express their frustration.

Goals from Youssef En-Nesyri and Loic Bade knocked Erik ten Hag’s side out of the competition.

It was a performance riddled with mistakes and errors which Sevilla capitalized on to send them through to the semi-finals.

United have already won the Carabao Cup and could win the FA Cup after a top-four finish in the Premier League.

However, some fans are fed up with certain players this season and have taken to Twitter to explain what they want the club to do.

A fan said captain Harry Maguire, who erred on the first goal, should leave: “Maguire is the first name on the sell list. He has to go.”

A second added: “Jadon Sancho needs to be sold, he’s not good enough and he’s a coward on the pitch, with all his skill and technical quality his lack of impact is shameful!”

After causing an error in the run for the third goal, another thinks the club shouldn’t extend David de Gea’s stay: “De Gea: never renew and let him go.”

Bruno Fernandes sat out the defeat by suspension and one fan believes his impact on the team is understated.

They said: “United fans should really start to appreciate Bruno Fernandes more. Over the last three years when he’s not on the pitch it’s so obvious.”

Despite being knocked out of the Europa League, United still have a chance to land another silverware in Ten Hag’s impressive debut campaign.

They meet Brighton in the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday, their second trip to Wembley this season.

United are also on course to qualify for the Champions League, but Thursday’s loss could still sting many fans in the weeks to come.
