Manchester United receives injury relief from Scott McTominay ahead of Brighton match

The Man United midfielder has not played since the team’s victory over Everton, but he has provided a positive update and stated that he hope to return to action before the season is over.

Scott McTominay, a midfielder for Manchester United, has shared good news about his injury recovery by announcing that he will soon be back on the field.

The 26-year-old Scotland international has been absent from United’s last six games across all leagues. Prior to United’s first-leg Europa League quarterfinal match against Sevilla last month, he discovered the issue.

As United was eliminated from Europe by the Spanish team, he failed to score in both legs of the tie. Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, and Nottingham Forest are among the teams he has recently missed in the Premier League.

The FA Cup semifinal victory over Brighton at Wembley on penalties occurred without McTominay. The midfielder last appeared for Erik ten Hag’s team in the Premier League victory over Everton, which United will face on Thursday night at the Amex Stadium.

The latest on McTominay’s return to fitness was encouraging. The midfielder uploaded a photo to his Instagram account of a sweat-stained shirt bearing his team’s number.

He tweeted a “soon” emoji along with the training equipment, and there’s a chance he’ll be back in the team for Thursday’s trip to Amex Stadium to play the Seagulls. United is aware that a win on the south coast will allow them to reclaim third place.

With two more players set to be announced throughout the day on Wednesday, the Premier League has unveiled the newest inductee into its Hall of Fame.

The Premier League Hall of Fame has inducted Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand. During his time at Old Trafford, the former England international won six league championships and was formally recognized as a Premier League legend.

Throughout his playing career, Ferdinand made 504 appearances for clubs like West Ham United, Leeds United, Queens Park Rangers, and most notably, United. He contributed to a staggering 189 clean sheets while also tallying 11 goals and 8 assists.

Following Sir Alex Ferguson in 2023, Ferdinand is the newest Manchester United legend to be honored. Arsene Wenger, a former manager of Arsenal, was also added, and the Premier League will announce two additional players on Wednesday.

Ferdinand was a key member of the Manchester United team that won three straight championships from 2007 to 2009, teaming up brilliantly with Nemanja Vidic. In addition to winning the UEFA Champions League in 2008 after defeating Chelsea in Moscow on penalties, United also enjoyed a period of dominance during that time.

At his induction, Ferdinand remarked that as a defender, “I’m not used to celebrating personal glory – we leave that to the midfielders and strikers!”. “You never imagine how well things could work out when you first start your career.

“I recall all the arduous trips on the trains and the tubes; all the practice; cleaning the players’ boots; and maintaining the equipment. My friends were all clamoring to find out what it was like when I returned to my estate, and I can still picture them.

“Being acknowledged by both my fans and my peers is a wonderful feeling. It is special to be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame alongside players of such high calibre and to be able to say that I fulfilled a lifelong dream. I still can’t believe I’ve made it to the Premier League—it’s the holy grail. ”.
