Youngster from Manchester United has been selected for the South American under-20 World Cup team

Mateo Mejia, a young player for Manchester United, has been selected for Colombia’s preliminary World Cup squad.

Due to the FIFA under-20 World Cup’s start date later in May, Alejandro Garnacho has a conflict of interest.

Argentina had attempted to free Garnacho by sending a delegation to Manchester, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

There was no chance Garnacho would be released because Manchester United was vying for Champions League qualification and playing in an FA Cup final in early June.

According to The Mirror, Erik ten Hag said at a press conference last week: “No, we won’t release him. ”.

One player, who appears to be traveling to the competition, can fill Garnacho in  all the details.

Mateo Mejia, a prospect for Manchester United, is included in the preliminary roster for the competition for Colombia’s under-20 team.

Mejia was listed as one of the 25 players called up by FCF Colombia, which was confirmed via Instagram.

Last year, the 20-year-old changed his allegiance from Spain to Colombia, making his under-20s debut for the South American nation.

Mejia has been held back by injuries since joining Manchester United’s under-21 team in 2019, but he is now having a breakthrough season. He moved from Real Zaragoza in 2019, and since then, his injury problems have finally subsided.

He has more assists than any other player among the under-21s, and at the end of March, he scored his first goal at Old Trafford.

He recently worked out with the first team, but since he isn’t really being considered for selection, he can play in the under-20 World Cup without any problems.

On the other hand, Alejandro Garnacho is simply too significant.

The trio have been norminated as the Manchester United players of the month

Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, and Bruno Fernandes are the Manchester United players up for the club’s Player of the Month award in April 2023.

The trio have been norminated as the Manchester

The three have been chosen as United’s top performers for April.

In April, United played nine games in three different competitions: six in the Premier League, two in the Europa League, and one in the FA Cup.

The Red Devils played five Premier League games, winning four, drawing one, and losing one.

After suffering a humiliating loss to Sevilla in Spain, Erik ten Hag’s team was eliminated from the Europa League.

However, they quickly made up for it by securing their spot in the FA Cup final by defeating Brighton on penalties.

Fernandes has played a variety of positions while consistently being a part of Ten Hag’s starting XI. He recently played on the right wing, where he scored the game-winning goal against Aston Villa.

Injured during the Brighton match at Wembley, Fernandes appeared to be unable to travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The disappointing 2-2 draw was made possible by the Portuguese, who rallied in time.

Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez’s injuries forced Lindelof into the team, and ever since his introduction, the Swede, who had mostly played supporting roles all season, has risen to the occasion.

Martinez and Varane won’t be sorely missed, thanks to Lindelof.

The most notable aspect of Lindelof’s performances is his cool and collected demeanor, which cannot be said of his center-back partner, Harry Maguire.

Ten Hag praised Lindelof for his contributions to the team in his post-Aston Villa victory press conference with reporters.

said United’s manager. Victor Lindelof displayed exceptional play. When it came to [Ollie] Watkins, he had complete control. ”.

Shaw completes the list of contenders. Due to the team’s injury crisis at the back, the Englishman has had to adjust to a largely unfamiliar position.

Together, Shaw and Lindelof have developed a strong rapport, and they have never lost a game when they have started together. Shaw last received a Player of the Month Award in March 2021.
