Fikayo Tomori is open to returning to the Premier League as Manchester United plans a summer move

With many departures anticipated and a few additions possibly in the works, Manchester United are anticipated to make defensive changes in the summer.

The future of club captain Harry Maguire is uncertain, and loan stars Alex Telles and Eric Bailly are expected to leave.

Due to Raphael Varane’s history of injuries, a new defender to take the place of the England player in the event that he departs may be needed, and his fellow countryman Fikayo Tomori may be the ideal candidate.

Gareth Southgate’s preference for the United player cost the former Chelsea star a spot in the Three Lions World Cup squad.

And the 25-year-old wants to change that going forward as he looks to rejoin the national team, which he thinks will be made possible if he competes in the Premier League.

The Serie A champion is willing to make a comeback, and clubs like United, Arsenal, and Newcastle are all interested in him, while Chelsea is still keeping an eye on him.

Not only that, but the center-back is also well-liked by Tottenham and Liverpool.

At the 1-1 draw between AC Milan and Roma last Saturday, top Premier League scouts were present, with the majority keeping a close eye on Tomori.

“90min understands that Tomori was being closely watched by Manchester United, Newcastle, and Arsenal… He would consider offers to return this summer.

“According to sources, Tomori would be interested in returning to the Premier League because he thinks that doing so would help him in his quest to play frequently for the England national team.”

His success in Italy has been clear to see; he led his team to the Champions League semifinals this year and helped them win the Serie A last season.

He has played in 38 games this season across all competitions, recording 15 clean sheets and scoring one goal.

If United considers an approach taking into account Tomori’s accomplishments in Italy and his desire to prove his detractors wrong, he could prove to be an inspired acquisition.

Paulo Dybala offered to Manchester United and other Premier League clubs

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has come under fire for his unwillingness to rotate in some crucial positions and the lack of effect his substitutions are currently having.

Though it is very obvious why the Dutch manager insisted on playing some players despite the risk of injury or suspension when taking into account the options at his disposal.

When it was revealed that Bruno Fernandes might miss the match against Tottenham because of an injury he sustained against Brighton in the FA Cup semifinal, there was a general panic.

United has lost three of its last four games without the Portuguese playmaker, and the 28-year-old hasn’t missed a United match due to injury since moving to Old Trafford.

However, the former Ajax coach is aware of how crucial it is to rotate impact players like the Portugal international, so it would be ideal if the Red Devils could sign a star who can play multiple positions and step in to replace Fernandes when necessary.

Ten Hag attempted to use his protégé Donny van de Beek in the No. 10 position, but each time he entered the field of play, he appeared lost, and it appears that a breakup is now inevitable.

Paulo Dybala, the top scorer for Roma, is one unexpected player who might be taken into consideration. A transfer to a Premier League club for the Argentine has long been a possibility.

The World Cup champion’s entourage has reportedly been courting English clubs, who are very interested in a deal given his low release clause. 90min claims that this is the case.

“90min is aware that Manchester United, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Tottenham have been informed of Dybala’s potential availability.

“Sources have confirmed to 90min that the Argentine’s representatives have been making sure clubs in the Premier League are aware,” the report stated. “Dybala’s contract contains a handful of release clauses – €20m for fellow Serie A clubs and just €12m for overseas teams – and sources have confirmed that they are aware of these clauses.”

The 29-year-old’s season-long stats more than support the statement that PL teams would be intrigued. In 34 appearances across all competitions, he has 16 goals and 8 assists.

He can also play in a variety of positions, including up front, where United are already very deficient, behind the striker, and even on the wings if necessary.

Although the Argentine could remain at Roma, Dybala offered to join United.
There are worries that the former Juventus star would prefer to remain in Italy, where he is much more at ease, rather than moving to England.

Even if a club ultimately exercises the release clause, Dybala would have the final say and could decline, which is why clubs are leery of it happening.

Another concern is whether teams will be able to match Dybala’s current compensation, which could be problematic for many of the teams on the aforementioned list.

While the Argentina playmaker is talented enough to represent “the biggest clubs in the world,” according to Roma manager Jose Mourinho, Dybala is looking for happiness, which he has found in Rome.
