After FIVE stars leave,  how Liverpool can line up with Alexis MacAllister and Mason Mount

Alexis Mac Allister of Brighton and Mason Mount of Chelsea are on Jurgen Klopp’s shortlist of potential midfield additions for Liverpool this summer.

The Reds are fighting for a Champions League spot after failing to win a significant trophy. They are four points back of third-placed Newcastle under Eddie Howe and fourth-placed Manchester United under Erik ten Hag in the Premier League standings.

Jurgen Klopp is searching for new players in the transfer market due to Liverpool’s performance, particularly midfielders. According to Mirror Football, Liverpool is prepared to make a £70 million offer for 24-year-old Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister after his country, Argentina, won the World Cup.

With a £50 million offer anticipated, Klopp also hopes to lure Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount to Merseyside. With his current contract set to expire in June 2024, that might just be enough to convince the 24-year-old England international to move to Merseyside.

As exciting new transfer additions join Reds, Liverpool can fill four iconic jersey numbers.
Given that five players are anticipated to leave Anfield in the summer, the addition of Mac Allister and Mount to the midfield would be a game-changer for Liverpool. One of those stars will be Arthur Melo, who has yet to play in the Premier League this year.

The 26-year-old Arthur joined the Reds on a season-long loan from Juventus in September, but he has only played 13 minutes of football. Naby Keita, who has only started three Premier League games this season, has also struggled to get playing time and is expected to be released this summer.

The 28-year-old Keita’s contract expires in June. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is the same, too. Since sustaining a serious knee injury five years ago, the 29-year-old has found it difficult to secure a spot in Klopp’s starting XI, and it is anticipated that he will look for more consistent first-team action elsewhere.

Roberto Firmino has already stated that he will leave Liverpool in the summer. It is believed that Barcelona and clubs in Saudi Arabia are interested in the 31-year-old. Finally, with Brighton interested in James Milner, his time at Anfield may be up.

Liverpool’s starting goalkeeper will continue to be Alisson. After the summer, there will only be one goalkeeper, and Klopp’s strongest back four are Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, and Andy Robertson. When Liverpool has possession of the ball, that defense changes into a back three, with Alexander-Arnold moving into midfield to provide more creativity in the attack.

Fabinho, who has occasionally struggled this season, now has greater significance due to Alexander-Arnold’s new role. The Brazilian, who serves as Liverpool’s primary holding midfielder, is enjoying working with Alexander-Arnold when the team is in possession. At 29, he still has a lot to offer.

With Mount in a slightly more advanced position, Mac Allister could play in the center of midfield. When necessary, midfielders Curtis Jones, Thiago Alcantara, Jordan Henderson, and Harvey Elliott could all enter the game. This summer, it is not anticipated that those four will leave the club.

Klopp already has a wide range of attack options. Although Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo may disagree, Liverpool’s strongest front three consists of Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, and Luis Diaz. The latter is also capable of playing in attacking midfield.
