At Anfield this afternoon (3pm), Aston Villa will try to snap Liverpool’s seven-game winning streak.
Despite missing five players for the match, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will still field a strong squad as his team attempts to pass Manchester United and move into the top four.
This weekend, defender Calvin Ramsay, midfielders Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita, and Stefan Bajcetic, as well as forward Darwin Nunez, are all sidelined with injuries. However, Roberto Firmino is welcomed back by Klopp after a late fitness test for what may be one of his final games for Liverpool.
The Villa team, led by Unai Emery, is in excellent form going into the game, but they will need to be at their best to stop a rampaging Liverpool team trying to make it eight victories in a row. After a convincing victory over relegation-threatened Leicester City the previous time out, they are coming into this game.
For Liverpool players James Milner, Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who will all be playing their final games at Anfield, the game will also be a special occasion.
The complete Liverpool roster, broken down by position with a list of the players who are unavailable, is shown below for Aston Villa’s afternoon opponent.
