Sadio Mane was sold by Liverpool to Bayern Munich for about £30 million last summer.
According to German reports, Sadio Mane might make a surprise return to Liverpool.
Just one year prior, Reds supporters were in disbelief but remained forgiving as the Senegalese forward sought greener pastures. During his six years on Merseyside, Mane established himself as an Anfield legend by winning every major award possible and tallying 120 goals in 269 appearances.
When the 31-year-old pursued a move to Munich, fans supported him, but it would be an understatement to say that the arrangement has not been successful. Mane had a disappointing season, scoring only seven league goals in the void left by Robert Lewandowski.
Mane was suspended by the team as a result of an alleged fight with Leroy Sane in April, following their Champions League loss to Manchester City. As Bayern snatched the Bundesliga title on the final day, the Reds’ favorite played a bit part for the remainder of the season.
Following a close call with Borussia Dortmund for the division title, Allianz executives are reportedly planning a significant shake-up. While the players were still enjoying their victory over FC Koln on the final day, Chairman Herbert Hainer fired CEO Oliver Kahn and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.
Other well-known stars rumored to be leaving include Sane and former Arsenal star Serge Gnabry. Jurgen Klopp has already made future plans by bringing in Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo, even though a move for Sadio Mane may win over Liverpool supporters.
