There are rumblings, says Khephren Thuram in the midst of Liverpool transfer rumors

Despite rumored interest from Liverpool, Kephren Thuram has insisted he is “happy” at Nice.

A number of European powerhouses have been linked with the midfielder as a result of his outstanding season with a mid-table Nice team. It is no secret that Jurgen Klopp wants to strengthen his midfield, as Naby Keita, James Milner, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are playing their final game for the team.

With two years remaining on his contract and a value of £50 million, Thuram may decide to cash out now in order to get the most money for their asset. The Frenchman is a tall, strong midfielder who has been compared to more aggressive Paul Pogba.

The 22-year-old was the sole Nice representative in the Ligue 1 team of the season, named alongside superstars like Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe. Speaking at the UNFP Trophies ceremony, Thuram committed his immediate future to Nice – a blow to Liverpool’s transfer hopes.

“I want to progress, go on the field, have fun,” he said. “For now, I’m in Nice. It’s going very well. I really like the club, so I still see myself in Nice. I am very well in Nice.

“There are noises, I hear, but I’m happy in Nice. I hope to grow with this club. I would like him (Didier Digard, manager) to stay because he brought a lot to this group when it was in a difficult period.

“I don’t know if I tell him enough but he’s someone I can never thank enough. He helped me a lot in difficult times in my young career. We worked a lot together. I wish him only happiness, in Nice, or elsewhere. ”.
