Fabinho left out of Liverpool’s pre-season squad following Saudi bid

Liverpool have confirmed that Fabinho will not be traveling with the team on their pre-season tour of Germany.

The Brazilian midfielder has been offered the opportunity to join league champions Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, who have already signed Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and Jota this summer.

As sources reported earlier this week, Fabinho is keen on a move to the Middle East.

Liverpool named their 32-man squad on Saturday morning and there was no sign of Fabinho, who has been left at home as behind-the-scenes talks continue.

Interestingly, fellow midfielder Jordan Henderson was included despite receiving his own offer from Saudi Arabia.

Henderson has been targeted by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, who currently manages Al Ettifaq, and is said to be considering a move, despite Jurgen Klopp’s desire to keep his captain back.
