Barcelona willing to sell Liverpool midfield target this summer

Barcelona’s decision to sell Franck Kessie has sparked interest from several clubs, including Liverpool. However, the Ivorian midfielder doesn’t seem interested in possible transfers to Saudi side Al-Hilal or Juventus, as these two clubs are showing interest in the Ivorian.

As reported by Marca via Daily Mail, Kessie has expressed a preference for staying at Barcelona or joining a Premier League team.

This news will no doubt attract the attention of Liverpool, who have been keeping a close eye on the talented midfielder’s situation. However, the links have stalled in recent weeks which means the Reds’ interest in the player could wane.

Kessie’s arrival at Barcelona last summer from Milan was met with great anticipation and he quickly became an integral part of Xavi’s squad.

His contributions played an integral part in Barcelona’s successful 2022-23 La Liga campaign, showcasing his talent and versatility in midfield.

Liverpool’s interest in Kessie comes as no surprise given his abilities and proven ability to develop at the top level.

The 26-year-old possesses a unique blend of defensive tenacity, technical ability and goal-scoring prowess, making him an attractive target for many top-flight clubs.

Do we need Kessie?
With Kessie preferring to stay at Barcelona or join a Premier League side, Liverpool could be an attractive destination for the Ivorian.

The allure of playing under the renowned management of Jurgen Klopp and being part of the club’s history could be a factor influencing Kessie’s decision.

However, Liverpool will face competition from other Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Tottenham, who have also expressed interest in signing Kessie.

While Kessie’s availability may have sparked interest initially, Liverpool’s ability to identify other talented midfielders and secure services represents a more attractive proposition for the club and its supporters.

We could surely do better than settling for a one-time target instead of actively pursuing other players who could possess the same skillset.

The coming weeks will present plenty of opportunities for Liverpool to hammer out deals and present signings to Anfield fans, but Kessie is certainly not a bad option. We could be patient and get better players.
