Romeo Lavia, a young midfielder who had a breakout season in the Premier League, was one of Southampton’s few shining stars.
The 19-year-old has only recently joined the Saints from Manchester City, but throughout this transfer window, he has been linked to move away from the south coast.
Following their relegation, elite teams in the top division have shown interest in Southampton, with Liverpool reportedly having its opening offer of £37 million rejected. When the Reds come back, a new offer is anticipated.

Saints only scored five points during his eight-game absence due to a hamstring injury last August. They had won Chelsea 2-1 at St.amford Bridge and had seven points after their first five games of the season. Lavia scored the game-winning goal, and Mary was there. It quickly became clear that they were depending on an 18-year-old who had played senior football for only one season.
Except for that goal against Chelsea, Lavia does not contribute much at the top of the pitch. He should try to do better in this area because the best defensive midfielders in the world, like Rodri and Casemiro, frequently contribute goals. He has plenty of time to continue dominating games as he gets older because he is still young.
The majority of the supporters are ready for Lavia to leave this summer, but they are also confident that the club will get the price they want for him. Southampton has already replaced Lavia, who is valued at about £50 million, with Shea Charles from Manchester City in a deal that could increase to £15 million.
Unquestionably, given his age, this is the best time to move to a major league team, where he can flourish and rise to the top of the sport in a setting of the highest caliber.
