It has been claimed that Liverpool are ready to pay £50million to sign Andreas Christensen from Barcelona and he could be a great signing for the club.
The Reds have already welcomed two new players this summer and improved their midfield with the signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai
Defense is now arguably Jurgen Klopp’s priority, as LIVERPOOL’s back line has been among the worst of big Premier League clubs, conceding far too many goals every week.
As well as Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez have both proven injury prone, Ibrahima Konate has also struggled to stay fit while Nat Phillips is another option for Klopp but Christensen would jump in hierarchical order if he signs.
Spanish broadcaster Nacional recently reported that a new centre-back is being sought at ‘Klopp’s personal request’ and that Christensen is a man the German would like to sign.
Christensen has already enjoyed a stellar spell at Chelsea in the Premier League. He made 161 appearances for the Blues, helping them win the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup, but dreamed of a move to Barcelona.
However, he has been linked with a return to the Premier League ahead of next season, as the Spaniards look to raise late money to expand their squad in the remaining weeks of the window.
Chelsea didn’t want to lose Christensen when he chose to move to Barcelona – he was a player they had high hopes for – but he wanted a move to La Liga.
Barcelona may be open to letting the defender go for the right price but they are not desperate and unless Liverpool offer something crazy this is one player who will not make the move.
He really is a classy defender who has the ability to be the perfect partner for Van Dijk. We are not sure if there will be a transfer and we are shocked to see that LIVERPOOL are ready with that £50million.
