Liverpool have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich to sign Dutch midfielder, Ryan Gravenberch who has been on their radar for a long time.
According to The Athletic, the Anfield outfit has agreed upon a fee of €40m for the Dutch midfielder. There has been immense interest from Liverpool for a long time and the player too wanted to move to Anfield.
The 21-year-old will now fly to England ASAP and undergo a medical latest on Friday.
The deal was negotiated by Jose Fortes Rodriguez from Raiola. Moreover, it would see Gravenberch sign a long-term contract with the Reds.
Although the former Ajax man joined Bayern only last summer, his potential is very well known.
However, he gained interest from Manchester United, where he was given a chance to work under his former boss, Ten Haag.
But the player was keen on working under Klopp and also, the idea of getting more game-time encouraged him. That was one thing that he lacked at the Bavarian club and he wanted out for that reason.
He has only featured once as a substitute this season and had three starts last time around. And with Liverpool wanting more midfielders, it would be a perfect scenario for both parties.
A couple of days ago, reports showed that the personal terms were long agreed and the clubs were figuring out a deal.
With very little time remaining in the transfer window, the Reds have pulled an amazing deal.
The 21-year-old could be a great signing for Klopp. He is a typical box-to-box midfielder but Klopp could convert him into a no non-sense defensive midfielder.
Now with this signing, it feels like the last piece of the puzzle has been solved now. The Reds have had a great midfield rebuild and with such young players, the fans could be excited about the future prospects too.
