Liverpool missed the chance to overtake Manchester City and Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday when they were held to a draw by Brighton & Hove Albion.
After a first-half counter-attack from Seagulls winger Simon Adingra, Mohamed Salah shocked Liverpool by scoring twice at home five minutes before half-time.
Jurgen Klopp’s team had to share points with the Premier League side after exploiting a poor defensive sequence in the remaining 12 minutes, but Ryan Gravenberch had a chance to extend Liverpool’s lead in the second half.
With this score, Liverpool moved into the top four ahead of the October international break.
