Fulham boss Marco Silva has heaped praises on Liverpool duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alexis Mac Allister after Sunday’s game.
Speaking to Fulham’s official website, Marco Silva reflected on a thrilling 90 minutes of action at Anfield.
Liverpool grabbed a 4-3 win over Fulham as they left it late to secure a crucial three points.
Fulham put in a spirited display on the road but were eventually undone by some incredible goals from Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Indeed, Trent Alexander-Arnold scored a stunning free-kick to open the scoring inside the first 20 minutes of the game. Fulham immediately equalized through Harry Wilson.
But Alexis Mac Allister then produced an exceptional finish from distance to grab his first goal for Liverpool. And Silva singled out both Mac Allister and Alexander-Arnold for praise after the game.
Speaking to Fulham’s media team, Silva admitted his side were helpless to prevent both Alexander-Arnold and Mac Allister’s stunning goals.
“This afternoon, the way they scored the goals, the first two were world-class – a free-kick and that great, great goal from Mac Allister,” the Cottagers boss said.
“It’s not easy to do something against these types of situations.
“These goals aren’t something that happen often. They didn’t create much, apart from the two goals first half, we didn’t give them much space behind our backline.”
Fulham took an unexpected lead in the 80th minute through Bobby De Cordova-Reid after Kenny Tete cancelled out Mac Allister’s goal.
But Wataru Endo popped up with an exceptional finish in the 87th minute before Alexander-Arnold grabbed the winner just a minute later.
While Liverpool weren’t at their best yesterday, Klopp will be happy to see his side grind out another positive result.
As for Alexander-Arnold, he’s at the top of his game right now and has popped up with some crucial goals for Liverpool of late.
