Saudi Pro League Targets Liverpool Pair This Summer

Liverpool have been a target for the Saudi Pro League in their pursuit of players for the past few weeks.

Already, Mohamed Salah and Alisson Becker are believed to be on their wishlist, with two more players now added to the list of potential targets.

The league is intensifying efforts to attract more prominent players.

Last summer, it successfully acquired Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino, despite failing to persuade Liverpool to release Salah.

With recent changes in league regulations allowing for more foreign players, the upcoming summer transfer window is expected to see a surge in lucrative bids.

Liverpool may once again find themselves at the center of attention.

According to the Daily Mail, “Liverpool’s Luis Diaz and Joe Gomez have emerged as targets for the Saudi Arabian Pro League as they look to attract younger players this summer.

“There is a belief that both could be open to a move this summer following Jurgen Klopp’s departure and the arrival of Arne Slot from Feyenoord.

“Liverpool will naturally look to tweak their squad and the Saudi League believe there is an opportunity to test their resolve over the coming weeks.”

Diaz has also drawn interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona. Nevertheless, he recently emphasized his contentment at Anfield.

Gomez racked up 52 appearances in all competitions last season, showcasing his versatility and solidifying his role as a key player for Klopp’s side.

However, with Liverpool’s squad in a constant state of evolution, it’s probable there will be some movement this summer.

The Daily Mail also reported that “a centre-back is high on Liverpool’s list of transfer priorities this summer with Joel Matip having left and the question mark over Gomez’s future but they would be loathe to lose Konate just yet.

“Jarell Quansah’s development does give them another strong option but they are looking for another top level addition.”
