Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte appears to be on the market, as his name has been in the rumor mill for a few weeks. However, the capital club isn’t planning on giving him away at a discount.
Manchester United are keen on the Uruguayan standout this summer, who had an impressive start to his first season in the French capital. Nonetheless, as the 2023-24 season progressed, Ugarte came off the bench rather than in the starting 11.
Journalist Ben Jacobs reported on Wednesday that PSG aren’t in a hurry to sell Ugarte if the Red Devils want him this summer. Should the Parisians decide to part with him this summer, they want at least €60 million—the same amount they paid last summer.
A PSG report said: “PSG are in no rush to sell Manuel Ugarte. The club wants at least € 60M for him, the fee that PSG paid for him last summer – if a sale were to happen this summer. The Uruguayan remains a target for Manchester United.”
Manchester United still has its eyes on the Uruguayan standout. Knowing the suitors circling his client, Ugarte’s agent spoke about his client’s future while also revealing that Liverpool are a potential landing spot for the PSG player.
“Liverpool? There is a lot of talk but it is not the only club, there are others,” Ugarte’s agent Jorge Chijane told O Jogo.
“There are many possibilities on the table. It’s almost certain that he won’t stay [at PSG], it’s sure he’ll leave. I believe the situation will be resolved.”
