So far, Bronny James’ NBA Summer League experience has been one he’d like to put behind.
The second-round NBA Draft pick has failed to impress with the Los Angeles Lakers, and faces endless scrutiny thanks to the pressure of being LeBron James’ son.
Even when he attempted to have some fun by showing off a rare ball trick, fans killed him for not learning moves that will help him on the court.
“Put the ball in the hoop bro,” said a cynical comment with over 600 likes under the video on TikTok.
“His best highlight of summer league so far,” joked another.
“Good at everything but his sport,” said the most popular comment, seemingly referencing Bronny’s Summer League Call of Duty title.
James averaged 5 points, 4 rebounds and 2.5 turnovers in his first two Summer League games, with a plus-minus of -16.
“Bronaldo” seemed to be in the soccer spirit during the summer that included the European Championships and Copa America 2024, which was hosted in the United States. His juggling skills were impressive, proving his athleticism and ball control, but ultimately they were not what fans want to see.
Bronny admitted to being in a “slump” in the early days of his Lakers career, and the harsh fans are not helping.
Los Angeles would have seen this coming when they decided to draft the son of LeBron James, and they have continued to back him publicly, even when social media feels differently.
