Celtics Legend Blasts Lakers Player For Bronny James Criticism

An anonymous Lakers player condemned the alleged “star treatment” Bronny James received during the NBA Summer League, which didn’t sit right with Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce.

During a recent appearance on FS1’s “Undisputed,” Pierce sounded off of the topic, putting the unnamed player on blast over nothing more than sour grapes.

“Bronny got drafted, Knecht got drafted, the rest of y’all: fall in line,” Pierce stated. “They’re developing the draft picks. Y’all just here for…what they call the seat fillers when you go to the awards. These are seat-fillers talking.

“[Bronny] was drafted, of course they’re going to cater more to him, do more for him. And next time you [say something], put your name on it. These are cats that are going to be training camp invitees, these are cats that’s going to be oversees somewhere, these are cats that’s going to be trying out for the G-League, and there here talking anonymous.”

The Lakers went 3-5 during the Summer League and Bronny, the son of mega-star LeBron James, had an underwhelming showing during his five appearances. Bronny averaged six points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game. He shot 32.7% from the field and just 13% from 3-point range.

The 19-year-old rookie is expected to start the season in the G League with the Lakers bringing him along slowly and helping him develop at his own pace.
