LeBron James has reacted to a Lakers fan post on X. James is in offseason mode, reminiscing about the success of the 2019-20 team that won the championship inside the NBA bubble in Orlando, Florida, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a post on X, the Lakers fan account “Lakers Lead” shared a throwback video of Jared Dudley’s buzzer-beating 3-point shot to end the third quarter against the Brooklyn Nets. The play happened on March 23, 2022 at the Barclays Center, with the Lakers winning 128-113.
“THIS WAS PEAK,” the account tweeted.
A fan with the username @rhyandavila replied to the post saying that he misses the 2019-20 Lakers. And to the surprise of many Lakers and LeBron fans, “The King” himself replied to the account and said that he misses that team as well.
“I DO TOO 😔 James responded.
It broke many LeBron James fan pages, including @BronGotGame who couldn’t believe his king replied to a random user. Nevertheless, LA Lakers fans are now urging James to talk to team owner and president Jeanie Buss to do something about their current roster.
“Then tell Jeanie to do something!,” a fan wrote.
“Bron we need to do something and have a team like that again make a call to Jeanie and Rob,” another fan commented.
“Bron I’m your biggest fan I’m serious man, pls just like my reply or something,” @BronGotGame pleaded.
The LA Lakers have done nothing significant in the offseason to improve the roster around LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The Lakers hired a new coach, JJ Redick, while drafting Dalton Knecht and LeBron’s eldest son Bronny James.
“Back when LeBron actually had help,” a fan opined.
“ROB PELINKA RUINED OUR TEAM GOAT WE COULD’VE WENT BACK 2 BACK,” another fan claimed.
“Rob messed up big time breaking that team up,” a third fan remarked.
LeBron James will be the oldest player in the NBA for the second straight year, but there are still no signs of slowing down. James is entering his 22nd season in the league, tying Vince Carter’s record most seasons player in the league. He’s fresh off his third Olympic gold medal in Paris, France.
James is also coming off averaging 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 54.0% from the field, 41.0% from beyond the arc and 75.0% from the charity stripe.
He stayed relatively healthy, playing 71 games in the regular season, but the LA Lakers were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
Nevertheless, “King James” is expected to make more history next season as soon as he steps into the court with his son Bronny James. They are set to become the first father-son duo to share the court at the same time in NBA history.
