WARRIORS vs BLAZERS INJURY REPORT: Stephen Curry Good to Go

Finally, the 2024-25 NBA season is here. After an exciting, funny, and historic doubleheader on Tuesday, the rest of the league is in action today. That includes your Golden State Warriors, who kick off the season with a short road trip up north, where they take on the Portland Trail Blazers.

It will be a fun game, if for no other reason than because the Warriors are finally back in action. We get to watch Stephen Curry! And all the other players we’ve been eagerly waiting to don the blue and gold and take the court, as the pursuit for a better season than the last two officially gets underway.

As the year goes on, the Warriors — like all 30 NBA teams — will be hit with their fair share of injury setbacks. Thankfully though, those setbacks will have to wait for another day.

Here’s the full injury report, as last updated by the league’s 1:30 p.m. update.

Warriors
Nobody! That’s right, it’s a fully clean injury report to start the season for Golden State. Curry’s finger that he sprained, causing him to miss some preseason time? Don’t worry about it. Brandin Podziemski’s broken nose? He’ll mask up and play. Andrew Wiggins’ illness? In the rearview mirror.

Full squad, baby.

Blazers
Out — Matisse Thybulle (right knee inflammation)

I’ll be honest — and hopefully won’t jinx the Dubs by doing so: there aren’t a lot of reasons to watch this Portland team, which figures to be an ode to uninteresting basketball. But Thybulle, one of the league’s greatest pickpockets, is certainly one of the few reasons to tune in. Unfortunately, he’s expected to miss a few weeks, by which point the Blazers might already be out of the postseason running.

Out — Robert Williams III (left hamstring strain)

Williams, like Thybulle, is a fun player to watch. Unfortunately, he’s had so much trouble staying on the court. He only played six games in his inaugural season with the Blazers last year, and has appeared in just 215 contests — the equivalent of just over two-and-a-half seasons — as he opens up his seventh NBA campaign. Thankfully this injury isn’t expected to keep him out for a long time.

Out — Shaedon Sharpe (left shoulder labral tear)

Sharpe had something of a breakout season last year, in his second year. He’s looking to build on it this year, but is likely out until mid-November at the earliest.
