The Golden State Warriors are off to an impressive start this season, with Stephen Curry leading the charge to a perfect 3-0 record in the NBA Cup and a strong 12-3 overall standing. Despite the offseason departure of Klay Thompson, Curry has kept the Warriors competitive at the top of the Western Conference standings.
But a peculiar theory has emerged linking the Warriors’ past championships to Kendrick Lamar’s album releases. According to SportsCenter, the Warriors have won a championship every year Lamar dropped a major project.
This includes To Pimp a Butterfly in 2015, DAMN. in 2017, Black Panther: The Album in 2018, and Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers in 2022. With Lamar’s latest release, GNX, hitting shelves this year, fans are playfully speculating that another Warriors title could be in the cards.
Curry, who recently discussed his championship aspirations, has shown no signs of slowing down.
“Honestly, the fifth ring is the only thing I’m really playing for right now,” Curry told NBC Sports Bay Area.
“It’s the only thing that matters achievement-wise.
“I still love to play the game. I still love to come to work every day. Basketball is still fun for me. The challenge of trying to figure out how to win on a nightly basis, I still get up for it.”
Meanwhile, there is buzz that Klay Thompson could make a surprise appearance at the All-Star Game, reuniting with Curry for the event.
Adding to the excitement, rising WNBA stars Sabrina Ionescu and Caitlin Clark might also participate in a special crossover showcase.
