LARSON SPEAKS WITHOUT SAYING A WORD: NASCAR Star Breaks Social Media Silence with Cryptic Emoji

Kyle Larson concluded the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season as the leader in multiple categories, including laps led (1,700), top fives (15), and total number of wins at six. Despite those numbers, he failed to advance to the Championship 4 race and finished sixth in the final points standings.

The Hendrick Motorsports driver’s absence from the title race at Phoenix led to many fans complaining on social media about the playoff format and how it doesn’t reward the best drivers.

After Martinsville when his teammate William Byron and fellow competitor Christopher Bell were beneficiaries of race manipulation, some fans proposed the 2021 champion should advance.

During Nov. 9 media availabilities in the desert, a reporter asked him for his thoughts on the idea.

“I recently deleted Twitter a few weeks ago,” Larson unexpectedly revealed.

“So I’ve been kind of in the dark on a lot of stuff.”

That was surprising and disappointing news for No. 5 fans who had welcomed his willingness to open up and share his thoughts on racing in recent months, including a lengthy post on Bristol Motor Speedway and the fans general understanding of the issues.

Larson’s last original post on X was on Oct. 23 when he talked about returning to Indianapolis in 2025 for the Indy 500 and to defend his win at the Brickyard 400.

He had reposted items on Oct. 25 for HMS and Nov. 21 for FloRacing. On Friday, the 32-year-old replied to a post by the sports memorabilia auction site Pristine Auction with a simple emoji of a finger pointing down to the Black Friday promotion mentioned.

That was it.

Is Larson’s self-imposed hiatus on X over? Or, was his post a contractual obligation and he’ll now return to radio silence?

Time will tell.
