BRONNY’S BIG BREAK: Lakers Recall LeBron’s Son After Impressive G-League Showcase

Bronny James’ last two performances in the G-League were enough for JJ Redick to bring him back for Monday’s game against the Pistons.

The young guard impressed with 16 points, five assists, four rebounds, and three steals in a 98-90 loss to the Greensboro Swarm. He followed that up with six points and seven assists in a 120-104 win in the second game.

According to Marc Stein, LeBron James’ son will be part of the squad facing the Pistons on Monday:

“James and Maxwell Lewis were recalled by the Lakers from South Bay on Sunday with the expectation that they will be uniform for the Lakers’ home date Monday.”

This recall could give Bronny an opportunity to log some playing time before potentially returning to the G-League with the South Bay Lakers.

The simultaneous recalls of Bronny James and Maxwell Lewis coincide with uncertainty surrounding Anthony Davis and LeBron James’ availability for Monday’s game against Detroit.

The injury report indicates LeBron James is dealing with a left foot issue, while Davis is nursing a right elbow contusion.

Even though the Pistons appear to be a manageable opponent, the potential absence of the team’s two best players would be a significant blow for the Lakers. However, Los Angeles is riding high on a three-game winning streak, including a strong victory against the Kings.

Currently, the Lakers sit in 6th place in the Western Conference standings with a 16-12 record.

The Lakers will face the Pistons at the Crypto.com Arena on Monday at 7:30 PM PST (10:30 PM ET).
