THE WAIT IS OVER: Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari Debut Date Announced

A new era at the Ferrari is underway as Lewis Hamilton has officially become the Scuderia driver. Subsequently, as the new year has also begun, fans are immensely interested in knowing when will the Brit be behind the helm of his Ferrari for the first time. A schedule for the same has been rolled out and the information regarding when he will steer the Mercedes wheel.

When Will Lewis Hamilton Mark His Ferrari Debut?
He could have begun his Ferrari journey at the post-season tests in Abu Dhabi but the 7-time world champion was made to wait and as certain obligations came in the way as explained by team principal Toto Wolff.

However, since his time with the Silver Arrows is officially over, the prolonged wait is also set to end. Reports suggest that Hamilton will most likely test an older-spec Ferrari F1 Car at their private test track in Fiorano later this month. He could be witnessed driving an SF-75 from January 20 to 25.

Having endured a subpar season with Mercedes last season, Hamilton has expressed the desire to reinvigorate himself ahead of the much-awaited beginning with Ferrari.

After an undesired culmination with Mercedes, Hamilton was quoted by Sky Sports F1 as saying:

I could happily go and take a holiday. But once he is done recouping, the Briton will be eager to get down to business with his engineers in Maranello.

As is the case with sportspersons let alone F1 drivers, the 39-year-old veteran will require some time to acclimatize with his new car. Nevertheless, Ferrari are going the distance to make him feel comfortable from the outset, including changing the car philosophy to suit his driving style.

As far as his official Ferrari debut is concerned, Hamilton will feature in the pre-season testing scheduled to take place from the 26th to the 28th at the Sakhir International Circuit in Bahrain.
