BREAKING: NFL Makes Huge Jared Goff Announcement After Career Season

Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions capped off the season with a 15-3 record. The Lions were one of the most dominant teams in the NFL throughout the season and entered the playoffs as the No. 1 team in the NFC standings. Despite its regular-season success, Detroit lost 45-31 to the Washington Commanders in the Divisional Round.

Following Detroit’s brutal loss, the NFL’s official social media account dealt the organization exciting news. The league announced its finalists for the AP Most Valuable Player of the Year, including Lions quarterback Jared Goff.

Goff finished the season with 37 touchdowns and 4,629 yards, completing 72.4% of pass attempts. He’s No. 2 in the NFL in passing yards and No. 4 in passing touchdowns while having the No. 6 QBR in the league (68.4).

The Detroit star helped the Lions average 33.2 points and 423.9 yards per game. In the final game of the season, the Lions’ Divisional Round loss to the Commanders, Detroit produced 521 total yards with 30 first-down conversions and a 3-of-9 third-down conversion rate.

The other finalists for the MVP award include Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Saquon Barkley and Lamar Jackson. Goff and the rest of the finalists will wait for the official announcement of the NFL awards on Feb. 6 at Saenger Theater in New Orleans.
