Wednesday night’s Lakers vs. Mavericks game had everything. Star power, drama, and a big-time return.
Luka Doncic was back in Dallas for the first time since his trade to Los Angeles — and he made it count, scoring 45 points against his former team. LeBron James added 27 in a signature win for the new Lakers duo.
But one of the most talked-about moments came after the final buzzer.
Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry was in the building and caught up with LeBron backstage. Henry shared the moment on social media, calling LeBron the GOAT — a nod to his favorite athlete.
When asked about Henry being in attendance, LeBron gave the NFL star some serious love.
“I’ve said over and over that King Henry is my favorite player in the National Football League,” James said.
That’s high praise from the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
Henry, now with the Ravens, had an incredible season — rushing for 1,921 yards and 16 touchdowns in his first year with Baltimore.
His move from the Titans surprised a lot of people, but it clearly didn’t slow him down.
LeBron showing that kind of respect to an NFL player is rare — and a true testament to Henry’s abilities on the field.
Los Angeles Lakers’ Luka Doncic celebrates with LeBron James during the fourth quarter against the Dallas Mavericks.
It’s not every day two elite athletes at the top of their games show that kind of mutual appreciation. Luka might have dominated the court, but King Henry stole a little of the spotlight off it.
