Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp laughed off Kylian Mbappe’s transfer rumours to Liverpool this summer, according to Sky Germany.
For last two summer transfer windows, Mbappe has been the hot topic in the world of football.
Last summer, there was a fierce fight between Spanish giants Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain for Frenchman’s signature. However, he choose to remain at Paris last season.
Although, Mbappe has been very vocal about his intentions to leave the club, as he declined to sign a new contract with PSG.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano now claims that the 24-year-old superstar wants to join Real Madrid on a free transfer next season.
Liverpool have emerged as potential loan destination for Mbappe, as the French club are currently finding a solution for the final year of his contract. However, Jurgen Klopp has ruled out the move and said :-
“We laugh about it.
“I can say that I think he’s a really good player but the financial conditions don’t suit us at all. I wouldn’t like to ruin the story now, but as far as I know, there’s nothing to it.
“It’s possible that someone else from the club is preparing something and wants to take me by surprise. That hasn’t happened in the eight years that I’ve been here. That would be the first time.”
Mbappe had time till Monday midnight to trigger one-year contract extension with PSG. He didn’t use that option and as his actions suggests he has already concluded.
The World Cup winner was dropped from clubs pre-season tour to Japan and South Korea. Mbappe was put up for sale as PSG knew that he will not sign a new contract and they’ll want to sell him asap.
Saudi club Al Hilal lodged a world record fee of £259 million, but Mbappe rejected the negotiations.
