Mohamed Salah speaks after Al Ittihad interest as Liverpool fans ‘lose their minds’

Liverpool supporters were clueless about what to make of Mohamed Salah’s first social media uploads after he’d been linked with a mega-money move to the Saudi Pro League.

Mohamed Salah didn’t acknowledge his transfer interest from Al-Ittihad as he took to social media – leaving Liverpool fans “losing their minds”.

A major transfer bombshell dropped on Thursday (August 24) when it emerged the Saudi Pro League side have re-ignited their earlier summer interest in the Reds’ star man.

It was claimed they’d agreed a deal to make him the nation’s highest-paid import so far – topping even the wages of Cristianp Ronaldo – by Spanish outlet Relevo. Further reports added they are prepared to go “all out” to sign Salah.

The prospect of moving to the Middle East didn’t appear to have fazed the 31-year-old, though, as he posted on his Instagram story this evening.

After sharing a picture of a chess game on his tablet with the pumpkin emoji over it, Salah later uploaded a selfie wearing a balaclava wrapped around his forehead and a pink turtle neck jumper, which also ended up on his Twitter without a caption.

Fans weren’t sure what to make of the posts, with one replying: “Everyone’s losing their minds over his future and Mo has just been to see Barbie.”

A second similarly joked: “This Barbie is staying at Liverpool.”

A third quipped: “When you’re rejecting Ittihad at nine and hosting a women’s aerobics class at 10.”

A fourth said: “Pink turtleneck you know this is how he’s denying the Saudi links… slayyy girl,”

A fifth commented: “Very ‘cryptic message’ this. Not sure what, mind.”

It seems Liverpool have no intention of letting Salah go, understandably so given the transfer window slams shut in just eight days’ time.

Sky Sports News reported he’s not for sale and will not be allowed to leave Anfield under any circumstance. Al-Ittihad have already signed Fabinho from them earlier this month in a £40million deal.
