Gary Lineker agrees with Liverpool supporters about Darwin Nunez

Darwin Nunez scored two goals for Liverpool to snatch all three points from Newcastle United on Sunday.

Liverpool supporters have taken to social media to react to Darwin Nunez’s stunning match-winning cameo against Newcastle on Sunday evening.

The Uruguayan, a second-half substitute for 10-man Liverpool, scored two late goals to complete an incredible turnaround for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The Reds found themselves a goal and a man down at half-time after Anthony Gordon had fired the hosts ahead before Virgil van Dijk was controversially sent off for a last-ditch challenge on Alexander Isak.

But after being sent on by Klopp in the 77th minute, Nunez latched on to a mistake by Sven Botman to fire Liverpool level with a cool finish into the far corner. And, just 12 minutes later, the Uruguayan grabbed his and Liverpool’s second with another exquisite finish from a Mohamed Salah through-ball.

And immediately after the game, Liverpool supporters, too, couldn’t hide their love for the Uruguayan, with many believing it is now his time to shine at Anfield.

Gary Lineker also paid tribute to the striker, tipping him for more big things this season.

Shortly after embracing his No.9, the Liverpool managed headed over for the 3,000-or-so Reds supporters packed into the gods of St James’ Park as he delivered a trademark post-game fist-pump.
