Arsenal aim to frustrate Liverpool after £25m bid

Arsenal are reported to be tracking Fluminese midfielder André Trindade as Liverpool see their bid rejected.

The 22-year-old Brazilian has made a significant impact in his home country and has drawn comparisons with Arsenal’s own Gabriel Martinelli, who made the move from Ituano to the Gunners in 2019.

Martinelli has since established himself as an essential member of Arsenal’s first team.

Trindade, with 157 appearances for Fluminese, has been getting attention not only for his performances in Brazil’s Serie A but also on the international stage, having earned his first caps for Brazil.

His rising profile has not gone unnoticed in the Premier League, with Liverpool reportedly also expressing keen interest.

The Merseyside club is said to have tabled a £25 million bid for the young talent, an offer that Fluminese declined, citing their aspirations in the Copa Libertadores.

But Arsenal are not standing idly by. The club have actively engaged in scouting missions to assess Trindade’s capabilities.

Arsenal’s sporting director, Edu, even made a trip to Fluminese’s training ground during the recent international break.

The club appears to be lining up their targets for the January transfer window, with reports suggesting the club is also interested in Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

Arsenal’s pursuit of Trindade can be seen as part of a broader strategy to invest in young talent, particularly from Brazil.

The success of Martinelli serves as a testament to the effectiveness of this approach.

Liverpool’s interest in Trindade adds a layer of complexity to Arsenal’s pursuit.

The Reds are still interested in the midfielder, despite their previous bid being rejected.

With both Arsenal and Liverpool vying for his signature, it sets up a transfer tug-of-war that could potentially escalate during the January transfer window.
