Mohamed Salah has been voted into 11th place in the 2023 Ballon d’Or rankings.
Having been named on the 30-player shortlist for the men’s prize announced last month, the Liverpool forward’s final position was revealed as part of the annual award ceremony, held in Paris Monday evening.
The accolade is decided by journalists from FIFA’s 100 top-ranked member nations and is based on individuals’ performances across world football during the 2022-23 season.
At club level, it was a campaign that saw Salah score 30 goals in all competitions for the Reds – the fourth time in his first six campaigns with the club that he had reached or surpassed that figure.
The Egyptian also delivered his best-ever haul of assists in a single season at Liverpool, chalking up 16 across all competitions.
In March, Salah became the club’s record goalscorer in the Premier League and then achieved the milestone of 50 goals while representing his country.
