What Pep Guardiola will do for our game against Liverpool – Kyle Walker

Liverpool take on Man City at the Etihad on Saturday afternoon and City defender Kyle Walker has explained how his side will prepare for their game against Liverpool this weekend.

The Premier League returns from the international break in style this weekend, with defending champions City hosting the Reds. Just one point separates the two sides in the table.

However, preparation for both clubs is set to be disrupted due to the current international fixtures. Walker himself played the full 90 minutes for England in Monday’s 1-1 draw with North Macedonia.

And asked ahead of the game at the National Arena Tose Proeski in Skopje how his side planned to prepare for Saturday’s game at the Etihad, Walked revealed there is the possibility that he and his team-mates could be given time off before returning to training.

He said: “We’re going to get back from Macedonia early on Tuesday morning, but I have a good manager who gives us a couple of days off before the weekend.

“It’s a little tiring sometimes, but I wouldn’t change my job for the world. Sports science has helped me massively. I do my gym work for my muscles and I’m still sharp.”

Speaking following his side’s last game against Brentford, Jurgen Klopp criticised the decision to switch his side’s visit to Manchester City to a 12.30pm kick-off.

The Premier League fixture at the Etihad Stadium on November 25, in which first will host second, was originally planned for 5.30pm. However, a late kick-off time was rejected by a safety advisory group following several incidents between supporters of the two clubs.

Klopp said: “No-one can say at the moment, but how can you put a game like this on a Saturday at 12.30pm? Honestly, people making decisions, they cannot feel football, it’s just not possible.”
