Liverpool could bolster midfield with former Real Madrid man’s son

A good number of clubs in Europe are reported to be monitoring a young Argentine sensation Federico Redondo, who could be on the move this January.

Having come up through the ranks at Argentinos Juniors, the 20-year-old holding midfielder has garnered attention for his exceptional talent and maturity on the pitch.

As per TEAMtalk, Redondo’s attributes, including his remarkable vision, precise ball control and astute game-reading ability, have turned heads across Europe, with powerhouses Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid all jostling for the opportunity to secure the Argentina under-20 player’s signature.

Reports suggest that the prodigious midfielder could be available this winter for a relatively modest fee of £8 million.

This could well prove to be a steal, especially because Redondo comes from an elite footballing family.

His dad, Fernando Redondo, also a holding midfielder, played for Real Madrid from 1994 to 2000, winning two La Liga championships and as just as many Champions League. In 2003, he added another Champions League trophy with AC Milan.

The Spanish club are reportedly interested in recruiting the next generation from the Redondo family as they look to plan for the upcoming expected departures of veterans Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

Like his father, Redondo Jr’s potential compatibility with European football has not gone unnoticed.

For Liverpool, in particular, his stamina and adaptability could potentially be a perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp’s demanding system in which the midfielders in particular have to have an excellent engine to cover large spaces.

At just 20 years of age, he also has time on his side to make the position his own and become Wataru Endo’s successor as the number six.

That said, if he were to join in January, Redondo would offer invaluable cover as the Japan captain reports for Asian Cup duty.
