LIVERPOOL vs FULHAM: Every player available to Klopp as 10 confirmed out amid Trent Alexander-Arnold blow

Liverpool can take a big step towards a first piece of silverware this season when they take on Fulham in the first leg of its Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday. They will have to do it without one of their key players though.

The Reds host Marco Silva’s side at Anfield as they look to book their place at Wembley next month.

Jürgen Klopp’s side still have the chance to pick up four trophies this season, although the Liverpool manager’s task is being made much harder by a growing strain on the treatment room.

Already without Mohamed Salah and Wataru Endō, with the pair away at the Africa Cup of Nations and Asian Cup respectively, Klopp will now add Trent Alexander-Arnold to his list of absentees.

The Liverpool vice-captain is facing at least three weeks out after suffering a tear in his lateral ligament against Arsenal at the weekend.

That will come as another major blow to the Reds, who are already looking a little threadbare ahead of Fulham’s visit.

Dominik Szoboszlai remains out after injuring his hamstring against Newcastle, while Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas aren’t expected back until later this month.

Thiago Alcântara and Stefan Bajčetić, meanwhile, face a longer wait, with neither likely to be back in training until at least next month.

Joël Matip looks to be out for the rest of the season, while Ben Doak faces a lengthy spell out as well, leaving Liverpool with a total of 10 players out.

There is at least one piece of good news, with Virgil van Dijk back in contention after missing the FA Cup win over Arsenal through illness. He will almost certainly return to the line-up, with options at the back looking very thin now.

At least one of Owen Beck or Conor Bradley will be likely to come into the side to cover at full-back, and more youngsters will be needed in the squad.

The likes of Bobby Clark, James McConnell, Kaide Gordon and Trey Nyoni will be in contention once again, having been named on the bench at the Emirates Stadium.
