Peter Schrager Says Super Bowl Team Is ‘Battle-Scarred’

Ever since the 49ers made it to their last Super Bowl, it hasn’t been easy.

According to Peter Schrager, an NFL analyst, they’re ‘battle-scarred’ for all the things that have transpired since then.

Talking on Good Morning Football, he recalled how they were up on the Kansas City Chiefs four years ago before Patrick Mahomes brought the team back in the final quarter of the game.

Then, they went through Nick Bosa’s season-ending injury, followed by a year in which their divisional rivals, the Los Angeles Rams, took them out in the NFC Championship Game.

Fast forward another season and not even Brock Purdy’s magical run was enough to keep them from falling again at that very same stage, this time against the Philadelphia Eagles and with another heartbreaking injury.

Kyle Shanahan’s team has been through a lot to get to this point again.

They’re favored ahead of this big game for all the right reasons, as they have the most talented team in the entire league.

Then again, getting past Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the final game of the season isn’t going to be an easy task at all, not even this version of them.

Like them, the Chiefs are used to reaching these late stages; they just happen to win most of those games.

Will the 49ers be able to get back at Andy Reid and finally put an end to their Super Bowl drought?
