Arne Slot will be the one to succeed Jürgen Klopp as Liverpool manager as it stands, as a new era at Anfield gets ready to get under way.
Slot is the choice of Michael Edwards and FSG and will make the move over this summer barring any last minute hiccups between the clubs and reps.
The appointment of Slot will bring to an end Liverpool’s search for a manager, which has taken them to the likes of Xabi Alonso, Roberto De Zerbi, Ruben Amorim and more.
Slot, who has won the Dutch title and cup with Feyenoord and only missed out on a European trophy to Jose Mourinho’s Roma, will be hoping to replicate his success at Feyenoord over in England.
Of course, to do so, he’s going to need some trusty faces around the place.
And according to a report from Algemeen Dagblad, Slot is planning on doing just that by bringing his backroom team over with him.
Those names include a performance coach, and two of his trusted assistant coaches.
The performance coach coming over is Ruben Peeters, while the two assists coming along with Slot are named as Etienne Reijned and Sipke Hulshoff.
With Jurgen Klopp going and taking his own staff with him, it was deemed imperative by Slot that he be allowed to bring his own team into the club to work.
Slot has enjoyed huge success with that trio by his side and it remains to be seen if anyone else from the Dutch club will make the move as well.
For now, Liverpool fans will be concentrating on seeing off Klopp with a top send off the great man deserves.
But from the summer onwards, it will be all systems go and it looks like Slot is more than ready to tackle the job.
