‘Questions are going to be asked’: Mark Geyer rips Broncos stars over shock season capitulation

Mark Geyer has blasted the Brisbane Broncos’ star players, claiming their attitude is “crap” after a shock 41-16 loss to the Bulldogs.

Brisbane’s season is now on a knife’s edge after the upset result, and comes after they lost the grand final to Penrith last season.

“The Broncos season has gone … they’ve capitulated in the biggest possible way,” Geyer said on Triple M.

“I can’t believe they were only four minutes away from winning a grand final last year because their slide has been ominous and it’s going to raise more questions than answers.”

After grappling with Origin and injuries, Brisbane had close to their full strength side against the Bulldogs but were outclassed.

Coach Cameron Ciraldo put forward a game plan that attacked the edges of Brisbane with a number of players found out in defence.

Geyer believes apart from Pat Carrigan and Payne Haas, Brisbane’s main players need to change their attitude immediately.

“From the outside looking in it seems they just don’t want to do the hard work against a team like the Bulldogs who went up there without their best player Stephen Crichton and won so convincingly,” he said.

“The attitude at the Broncos is crap at the moment. Questions are going to be asked about their coach obviously, some of their star players except for Carrigan and Haas.

“The rest of the Broncos need to look at themselves in the mirror because they are looking really ordinary.”

Brisbane will now need to win their remaining five games if they are to be any chance of qualifying for the finals, including clashes with the Cowboys and Storm.
